A Cylinder Vibration Motor operates by converting electrical energy into mechanical vibration using an Eccentric Rotating Mass (ERM) mechanism. When DC power is applied, current flows through the motor’s internal coil, generating a magnetic field that causes the rotor to rotate at high speed.

An eccentric weight, securely mounted on the motor shaft, rotates together with the rotor. Because the weight is intentionally offset from the center of rotation, it creates centrifugal force during operation. This continuously changing force generates vibration that is transmitted through the motor housing to the host device.

The vibration intensity depends on several factors, including the motor speed, the mass of the eccentric weight, and its distance from the center of rotation. Higher rotational speed generally produces stronger and more responsive vibration output.

Cylinder vibration motors are designed to deliver stable, efficient, and repeatable vibration performance while maintaining low power consumption and compact dimensions. Their simple yet reliable operating principle makes them suitable for a wide variety of electronic products requiring haptic feedback, tactile alerts, or notification functions.

Operating Principle

1. Power Input DC voltage is applied to the motor terminals.
2. Electromagnetic Rotation The internal coil generates a magnetic field that drives the rotor to rotate at high speed.
3. Eccentric Mass Rotation The off-center weight attached to the shaft rotates together with the rotor.
4. Centrifugal Force Generation The rotating eccentric mass produces centrifugal force that changes continuously throughout each revolution.
5. Vibration Output The generated force is transferred to the motor housing and then to the host device, producing consistent mechanical vibration.
